A fresh approach underway for city centre state housing

Crown entity Housing New Zealand has this week begun conversations with tenants, partners, government agencies, non-government agencies and neighbours about the future of its well-known building at 139 Greys Ave, Auckland.

“Our aim is to work together to design and build a new type of housing with wrap-around services that will enable a mix of tenants with various needs to live in a community that provides a fresh approach to inner city living.” said Housing New Zealand Regional Manager Neil Adams.

“Our current Greys Ave building is nearing the end of its life and does not fit the needs of many of our tenants or the wider community. The intention is that it will be removed and we will work with the existing tenants to move them to other suitable Housing New Zealand homes.”
