Affordable housing, social housing key to Ivanhoe Estate plan at Macquarie Park

MACQUARIE Park will be home to Australia’s biggest social and affordable housing project — including 3,000 units, a high school and retail precinct.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced the successful tenderer to transform the Ivanhoe Estate, which will include at least 950 social housing units and 128 affordable rental units.

The Aspire consortium — which includes Frasers Property Australia, Citta Property Group and Mission Australia Housing — secured the deal.

They will provide an integrated development of people living in social housing (formerly known as public housing) and those who own their home.

The plans include a range of infrastructure for the new neighbourhood, such as a vertical high school for 1,000 students.

There will be new parks, a retail centre, two 75-place childcare centres and a 120-bed aged care centre.
