In its continuing work to resolve the issue of young people with disability being forced to live in aged care, the Summer Foundation is today launching a $1 million research grants program.
We’re looking for partners to deliver the range of high quality research needed to provide and evidence base to solve the issue of young people in nursing homes. It is a wicked problem that involves multiple complex systems, each with different drivers, rules and stakeholders.
To inform and foster the necessary systems change, we know that everything we do must be underpinned by a sound evidence base. We need rigorous research across the aged care, disability, housing, hospitals and primary and community health systems, to identify the factors that shape these systems, the pressure points, costs and potential opportunities for early intervention and catalytic change.
