Fire tower tenants had belongings removed without consent

Tenants displaced by the fire in Melbourne’s Neo200 tower had belongings removed from their apartments without consent and were not fully compensated for out of pocket expenses, some claim.

The February fire in the 41-storey building forced more than 1000 residents in 340 apartments to evacuate, with many tenants and owners displaced for several weeks after the blaze.

At least 43 units remain unoccupied with more than half uninhabitable for up to 12 months while repair work is carried out.
