PLANNERS for a 3000-home estate at Macquarie Park have outlined proposed new roads to help residents come and go near the Epping and Herring roads intersection.
The Aspire consortium which will redevelop the Ivanhoe social housing estate gave more details of its plans at a breakfast held by Urban Taskforce Australia last week.
The new estate will include at least 950 social housing units, 128 affordable rental units, a high school and shops.
To manage traffic, a new road and pedestrian link to Epping Rd would be created just north of Shrimptons Creek.
Only motorists travelling east on Epping Rd will be able to turn into this proposed road.
Planners also propose a road bridge between the estate and Lyonpark Rd, over the creek.
This would help residents easily get to nearby employers.
The Aspire consortium includes Frasers Property, Citta Property and Mission Australia.
Frasers project director Cameron Jackson said: “Our objective is to make these public roads.”
