North Sydney food bank needs space

North Sydney’s food bank is preparing to move ahead with a relocation in 2020 but cannot yet say where its new digs will be located.

Food bank co-ordinator Lawrence Shebib said efforts are underway to create a service hub for residents living in North Sydney, Georges River and Leitches Creek.

Shebib said there is a space in mind, but nothing has been made official.

There are also many ideas for the new facility but Shebib said it is important to hear what community members would like for their programming.

Among the ideas for the service hub is attached affordable housing units for seniors.
