NSW’s public housing shake-up welcomed

The move will see a boost to the maintenance of properties and more innovative and tailored models of public housing emerge, says Andrew McAnulty, chief executive officer of Link Housing, which was awarded 1,875 property leases.

“We’re focused on being good housing managers, doing repairs, listening to tenants and providing them with opportunities,” Mr McAnulty told Government News.

The not-for-profit organisation provides individual support to assist tenants to eventually move out of public housing, allocating a local housing coordinator to ensure they’re accessing necessary support such as mental health or disability services.

Another team within the organisation works to connect tenants with their community and tackle social isolation.
