Two public housing tenants have been allowed to remain in their taxpayer-subsidised home for more than a year, despite police accusing them of using it as a drug den.
Jason Dean Lynch and Mark Anthony Lynch were both charged after a police raid on their commission house uncovered $139,000 in cash and 1.5kg of cannabis in May last year.
While the pair will reappear in the Queensland District Court on Friday, Mark Lynch told 9NEWS that the Housing Department hadn’t made any inquiries about what had happened at the property, which also contains three cars, two trailers and a boat.
Jason Lynch declined to comment on who owned the vehicles, instead telling 9news to “f— off.”
