Push to keep Kiwis off the street welcomed

Scott Figenshow, Community Housing Aotearoa

Almost $200 million will be invested over the next four years into the Housing First programme.

It’s expected to put a roof over the heads of more than 1000 more homeless people.

Community Housing Aotearoa’s Scott Figenshow told Kate Hawkesby they’re seeing more people end up homeless through bad luck.

“One or two things just go wrong in their life and they simply don’t have the wherewithal, don’t have the funds to be able to transition through those tough times. Any of us are kind of three crises away from becoming homeless.”
