The Tenants’ Union of Tasmania have released the latest edition of Tasmanian Rents for the June Quarter of 2018. See the full report here, and some helpful comments on the report below.
- The report shows the pattern of decreasing rents in the June Quarter.
- Rents increased by more than 10% in Greater Hobart, by 6% in Greater Launceston and around 2% in the built up areas on the North West Coast.
- Rents for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom properties in the South all increased by more than 10% in the last financial year, compounding upon 5% increases in the financial year prior to that.
- In Inner Launceston, rents for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom all rose by 6% or more in the last 12 months
