Uniting Care West are currently in the throes of raising enough money to provide a safe place for #Perth’s homeless to convene on a Saturday morning.
Right now, on a Saturday morning in Perth, there is nowhere to go if you are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
On Sundays, however, it’s a different story. There are other support services available to those doing it tough but on Saturday mornings, the homeless are on their own.
Enter Uniting Care West.
They’re currently trying to raise the funds to open up their Tranby Shelter on a Saturday morning, to give #Perth’s homeless a place to get a warm meal, the chance to have a shower and receive much needed support services.
The goal is $150,000, and at present, they’ve raised just over half that, which has meant that they’ve been able to turn on the lights at Tranby on Saturdays for the first time, in mid July.
