At the start of our housing Britain week, tonight we ask what should the future of social housing be in the light of the Grenfell tragedy. What’s it like to live in social housing in 2017? The Grenfell survivors and local residents speak of endlessly being ignored by the authorities, treated as second class citizens. How can that change? How many new social homes should be built? Who should build them?
None of these questions were at the forefront of the national debate before at least 80 people died in the fire on the 14th June.
